Charlie's Backup Parents

We went to a bridal shower on Sunday with Charlie. He explored the apartment a little and hung out with his mommy, but then he kept going over to hang out with the above people that I have met a few times, but don't really know. He has been going through separation anxiety with me so it was weird to see him go hang out with strangers so easily. I thought they resembled us in certain ways, so maybe that helped. Hmm. It was kind of nice to be able to sit down and visit for a few minutes.

I can imagine how strange that is, but it's good that he's able to feel comfortable with other people. Especially because he's been pretty mommy needy for a while. I don't know if it made you feel a little rejected, but I could imagine feeling that way. It's really a sign that he feels comfortable and confident (or a toddler level of comfort and confidence) in the world around him. It would be so much fun to run a 10K with you, but maybe there will be some "race" (I don't race anyone:) )around during our visit. When I was out running tonight I was thinking about running with you when you come for Christmas. I was thinking that I better speed up (I average about 10:20 a mile)!
